Inside Passage

Today we started our journey through the Inside Passage. Unfortunately the weather is cloudy and misty. We sail alongside dozens and dozens of islands so close that you could almost throw a stone from the ship to the shore. These islands are covered in forests of trees that look like NZ pine trees.

It’s hard to believe a cruise ship the size of ours could travel so close to the land. The channel must be deep but nearer the shore you can see the pebbles under the water. Ive never seen so much forest. The Americans are doing their part for the environment!!
Gala night tonight so must get glammed up!,
The temperatures so far have not been any better than Dunedin. Around 12 degrees. They assure us they will improve when we go inland. Here’s hoping.
