Out & About

Saturday started off with Malcolm’s phone not holding a charge.  This was a major event!!!  Hotel staff directed us to a phone shop- hopeless. We then walked for what seemed like miles to an Apple shop in a very large shopping mall. The end result was that after 4 hours we paid for a new battery and left ready to explore the city.
We are surprised at the number of beggars in the town and the number sleeping rough on the streets. Some have mattresses and blankets. Ok in summer but not sure what the do in winter.
We got tickets for the Hop on Hop off bus and headed out for a 3 1/2 hour tour. Ive mentioned previously about the number of tall buildings everywhere. Found out today that 80% of the inner city building are apartments. One million people live in the central city which is why there are so many cafes and restaurants in the area.
The bus initially did a city tour then we went further afield. Stanley Park is a well known green area of 1000+ acre as. Being a Saturday it was being well used. Biking, picnics, walking etc. roads wind through forest and there is a 25km walkway which winds around the outside of the park and around the waterfront.
The weather is a bit up and down but no rain.

Napier has Pania on the rocks - nude. Vancouver has similar but being a conservative city she is in a bathing suit

  1. Glad you got the photos sorted. I tracked your flight so knew you had landed safely. Business class looks much nicer than where we usually sit! Has been really windy but today was a pleasant reprieve. Vancouver looks wonderful. The 25km walkway sounds like biking heaven. Happy travels. Xx
